Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:
Emergency Vet Care:
Please call our main telephone number (614-267-3124) for after hour emergency instructions. There is always a doctor on call.
Dog and Cat Boarding:
We provide dog boarding in Columbus Ohio and cat boarding as a service to our clients. All boarders receive personal attention from our caring staff. Pets may be dropped off and picked up during regular business hours Monday through Saturday. Dogs must be current on vaccinations for Bordetella (Kennel Cough), Distemper/Parvovirus and Rabies; and cats must be current on vaccinations for Feline Distemper and Rabies.
Preventive Medicine:
Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs including puppy, kitten, and yearly physical examinations; vaccinations; flea and heartworm control; and ResQ microchip pet identification.
Nutritional Counseling:
We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance, and performance. We have also implemented a weight monitoring system for those pets that are overweight. We want them to be healthy and happy while being with you the maximum amount of time possible.
Behavioral Counseling:
We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.
Pharmacy:
We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of Hills prescription diets.
Laboratory:
Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, and urinalysis. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations. Most test results are back to you the next day, although more specialized testing may take longer.
Internal Medicine:
Our hospital is equipped to obtain blood pressure measurements and tonometry readings (for glaucoma screening) as well as perform endoscopic and otoscopic procedures. We also provide electrocardiography (ECG) services on-site as well as consultations with cardiology specialists.
Radiology Services:
Our radiograph equipment includes high quality ultrasound and digital radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders. We also provide PennHIP and OFA radiographs as well as radiology consult services with board certified radiologists.
Surgical Services:
Our surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of general and orthopedic surgical procedures. We use a carbon dioxide laser for some surgeries which reduces pain. Take home pain management is also provided on an individual basis.
Anesthesia and Sedation:
We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older and high-risk patients. We monitor the patient's vital signs during all anesthetic procedures using the most modern equipment . Anesthetic drug choices are also made on an individual basis.
Dentistry:
Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, dental X-rays, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery. We also carry a variety of dental home care products including toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental rinses and Oravet.
Therapy Laser:
We have a therapy laser available for use at our doctors' discretion. It may be used to reduce healing times of wounds but, most often, it is used in the treatment of musculoskeletal or orthopedic problems such as trouble walking due to arthritis. It is generally done as 6 treatments over 3 weeks and then single treatments if needed beyond that.
Reproductive Services:
We provide services for artificial insemination, ovulation timing, and infertility problems. We also have an International Canine Genetics Certified Veterinarian on staff.
Pet Memorial:
A variety of options to remember your pet are available through Pet Cremation Services, Rutherford, and Schoedinger.

Routine bathing services are available by appointment Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Again, dogs must be current on vaccinations for Bordetella (Kennel Cough), Distemper/Parvovirus and Rabies; and cats must be current on vaccinations for Feline Distemper and Rabies.
